A vacancy has arisen for a

CHEMICAL ENGINEER

RESONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Working closely with the R&D and Production Managers the candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of existing and new chemical processes designed to improve product quality, reduce costs and increase productivity.

Responsibility for overseeing production trials of new products and refining and improving the manufacturing processes.

Identify new raw materials and equipment that could be used to improve product performance and manufacturing process.

Supporting and working closely with the Quality Manager to optimise day to day testing and control of product quality.

Creation and control of manufacturing log reports, detailing equipment capabilities and limitations.

Production of written reports

Hours of work are currently Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm.

QUALIFICATIONS

Honours degree or higher in Chemical Engineering is desirable

European language/s advantageous

EXPERIENCE

Will be familiar with processing techniques and methods that are applicable to liquid rubber compounding, ideally, but not essentially, within the silicones industry.

Should also have the ability to design and modify processes within the chemical restraints and equipment capabilities and be familiar with HAZOP.

Should be proactive in identifying new equipment to optimise existing and new processes and arranging trials off site or locally.

An understanding of the materials used in silicone rubber compounding and the potential to use this knowledge for product and process development.

Knowledge and understanding of QA procedures and testing requirements

The ability to work well in a small team, communicating well across all levels, from manufacturing through to senior management.

Salary package will be based on experience.
