Silicone moulding rubbers are now widely used within the film and theatre industries for the reproduction of materials for sets and the creation of special effects. ACC Silicones materials have been used extensively throughout the industry in production of major films and stage shows.
Silicone moulding rubber
These RTV silicone rubbers cure at room temperature and come in a 2-part system, these flexible moulds will reproduce the finest of detail. The original object can then be cast in either resin or plaster for use on the stage or film set.
ACC Silicones moulding rubbers come in a range of hardness's between 6 and 70 Shoe A. The ACC 900 series rubbers are high tear rubbers and ideally suited to the moulding of intricate shapes..

Special effects
Using a combination of moulding and modelling techniques silicone elastomers can be used to produce amazing special effects. Of particular interest is the ability to take one our translucent materials such as MM282 and add a suitable pigments these can then be used reproduce lifelike replicas of human body parts.
